Last night Deadline.com reported that Seth Green would produce an interactive digital reality series, ControlTV, that follows a young guy in his twenties and allows viewers to control every aspect of his life for six weeks. The show would feature heavy product placement for Ford and Sprint as they are both co-producers.
Now that on it's own doesn't sound too bad until you hear about Dan 3.0. Dan Brown was your average, every day kid until he uploaded a video to Youtube where he explained how to solve a Rubik's cube. One thing lead to another (as one thing often does), and Dan became a full-fledged internet celebrity (think Ze Frank, but less annoying). His videos are watched by hundreds of thousands of fans, and now, with the help of a few sponsors whose logos are plastered all over his new videos, Dan is doing whatever the fans want him to do... For a year (kind of makes Seth's show's six week runtime seem lame, no?). Dan's show was already three weeks into its year (and had been written about semi-prominently on the web) when Green's show was announced. I think it sounds a little fishy personally. What are your thoughts? Sound off in the comments.
