Now that this year's Oscar contenders Melissa Leo and Jesse Eisenberg have gotten over the Academy Award hump (she got her gold guy for The Fighter; he didn't for The Social Network), they're moving on. To star in a little indie comedy together! Aw.
They've committed to star in a feature-length film called Predisposed, based on a short starring Leo that was featured in Sundance back in 2009. It revolves around a young actor's co-dependent relationship with his drug-addicted mother, and her dynamic with her drug dealer Sprinkles (who may be played in the feature by Tracy Morgan). It was penned by Oscar-winning Philadelphia screenwriter Ron Nyswaner and Philip Dorling.
We're kind of excited to see Jesse Eisenberg act again. Considering up until The Social Network he essentially played versions of himself, watching him disappear in the role of a mama's boy Juilliard hopeful will be interesting. And we're sure Leo will knock it out of the park, as usual, as the aging junkie Ginger Rogers to Tracy Morgan's batsh*t Fred Astaire.
