This is awesome news. Frank Darabont's AMC adaptation of Robert Kirkman's genius comic series, The Walking Dead, has been renewed for a second season despite season one having not yet premiered. The story of Rick Grimes and company's attempt to survive The Zombie Apocalypse (proper noun, because if it happens there would be only one and I'm thinking it'd be historic) is a sprawling one that has thus far stretched over 75 issues. The first season of the AMC show (set to debut Halloween night) covers only the first six or so issues, so there is plenty of story to tell over future seasons. The best part of this news though is that AMC clearly thinks they have something special on their hands. Judging from the video and images that have been released, I tend to agree. Now here's hoping the Mad Men network extends the same second-season courtesy to one of my current favorites, Rubicon.
