"My dream has come true," tweeted Questlove yesterday afternoon, just a few hours before sometimes-reclusive piano-playing song-writing gut-wrenching extraordinaire Fiona Apple dropped by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to jam with The Roots on "Anything We Want" (from her succinctly titled new album The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver of The Screw And Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do… check out our rave review below) and a timely cover of birthday boy Paul McCartney's "Let Me Roll It."
Fiona also sat down for a quick chat with Jimmy, where the two recounted her infamous on-stage breakdown at New York's Roseland Ballroom ("I started crying and I could not physically stop…") and made clear exactly who "Anything We Want" is and isn't about. (Before you even ask, no one here at Ology gave Fiona Apple the No. 11 pool ball. Well, maybe Terron. I'll have to ask and get back to you.)
