Los Angeles post-punk revivalists Tropic Of Cancer.
Sounds Like:
Thick, murky, densely gloomy gothic post-punk music, positively covered in somber keyboards, minimal drum loops and bowing beneath the bleak grace of front-woman Camella Lobo's chillingly dark, ethereal vocals. Founded by Lobo and Juan Mendez (who eventually left the group), Tropic Of Cancer have been releasing rapturously engaging underground music since 2009, when their debut EPs were first released by Downwards Records. The sole recurring member (with Taylor Burch chipping in on stage), Lobo released the group's full-length album The End Of All Things earlier this year.
For Fans Of:
Zola Jesus, early Cocteau Twins, Bauhaus, Slowdive, Chelsea Wolfe and other slightly creepy gothic pop outfits.
