Nicklas Bendtner is better than you, and he knows it. His hair is better. His body is better. He's smarter, faster. And yes, his underwear is better than you. And your underwear, for that matter. Anywho, the Denmark striker scored twice in the Danes' 3-2 defeat at the hands of Portugal, but his celebration might earn him a punishment from UEFA, not because he showed the world his underwear, but because that pair of underwear was marked with a brand name.
UEFA, European soccer's governing body, forbids sponsorship on uniforms (unless you count the megacorporations that manufacture the unis), and Paddy Power is, in fact, a brand name. What's more, it's an online gambling site! The gambling isn't what's at issue for UEFA, though; it's the ban on sponsorships.
If something like this had happened in America, Bendtner would probably be banned for life from the sport, castrated, and forced into exile somewhere very cold and very dark. Somewhere like Denmark. As it stands, he'll most likely face a fine, which Paddy Power will surely pay. Whatever happens, we can all thank Nicklas Bendtner for existing and continuing to demonstrate his superhuman confidence. God bless Bendtner.
