Euro 2012 rolls on and continues to give fans more goals than anyone could have hoped for. Italy and Croatia drew 1-1 in their Group C matchup earlier today, but the Azzurri were dominating when midfield puppetmaster Andrea Pirlo lined up a free kick late in the first half.
You can probably guess (from the headline and all, if you read that sort of thing) what happened next. Pirlo put a ball into the near post, giving Italy a 1-0 lead toward the end of the first half. Unfortunately for the Italians, Croatia came back to level the match against the run of play. If Spain goes on to beat Ireland, which seems likely, they could theoretically play to a 2-2 tie with Croatia to ensure both teams a place in the quarterfinals.
But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. For now, enjoy the ageless wonder that is Andrea Pirlo, which follows up two amazing goals from the Group of Death yesterday.
