Last week: Gary was sent packing and I cried on the inside a bit.
The teams remain the same this week, which means the red team consists of John, Jenna and Liz while the black team is Nookie, Nicole, Nick and Avery. Right off the bat, I have no idea who's going to have the advantage.
"Assert yourself and make a decision."
Condescending, much? Jenna might be the death of me. And I don't even have to deal with her in real life.
"I'm stuck with two little school girls battling each other at recess."
The chefs have to sort through thosands and thousands of cheese wheels to find the bad ones marked with a triangle. Basically, another foot race. The red team has all three of theirs before the back team has one, but the black team pulls ahead soon enough.
"When in prison you have a ball and chain. Jenna is the ball and I have the chain."
Oh, John. I heart you. Just as I think the black team is going to take the win, they forget the parmesan (thanks to genius Nicole). Somehow, some way, the red team wins!
"Jenna won. No one wants Jenna to win. When Jenna wins, everyone loses."
There is no truer statement in the world. Anyway, the exceptional ingredient is time, an hour, to be exact. They also get to go to dinner and have the choice of bringing the other team, which they do for some stupid reason. But Jenna asks the dude questions in Italian, which no one else can understand... so I guess it doesn't matter.
"Jenna was being annoying as f*ck."
Totes. Meanwhile, Nookie and Avery have an alliance (since when?) and decide to take on the pasta together since it's the hardest dish. On the other side of the kitchen, Nick is trying to help a lost Nicole who isn't butchering the ribeyes correctly, or doing much of anything else with her life.
Insert random fact: John's a twin.
Back in the kitchen, the black team is really behind on their pasta, so they get waiters to help. Nookie is questioning his alliance now. As he should. Everyone ends up hating the tortellini. Nicole also f*cks up her dish, but she has immunity so... yeah. Looks like it may be Avery tonight.
Liz is in the red team's kitchen freaking out over her dish, but the diners and hosts seem to really enjoy it a lot. Jenna says she doesn't like Liz' dish while she drinks from a martini glass full of red wine. Groan.
"Jenna's voice makes me roll my eyes."
I can't stop. I'm sorry! Anyway, when the chefs get in front of the judges, Jenna throws Liz under the bus. And BAM! SHUT. DOWN. Jenna is the one who screwed up on the red team. About time. But in the end, they win anyway. Which means Jenna survives another week and John FINALLY f*cking wins. He wins MVP too! Thata boy.
The black team is going back and forth about who to vote out, and I'm worried Nick is going home because of the alliance. Avery deserves to go home. She's good, but she f*cked up the pasta. Nicole chooses Nick. Nick chooses Avery. Avery chooses Nick. It comes down to Nookie and he picks... Nick! Ahh! Such B.S. He's so talented and it's a shame to see him go (but at least John is safe).
SumOlogy: Not sure how much longer I can take Jenna or Nicole.
Grade: B
