When Degrassi: Showdown premieres July 16, there will be more than enough drama to go around, but we’ve got quite a few questions rolling around after checking out the first episodic trailer of the new season. Before we give you an exclusive look at the new season in next week’s Summer TV Preview Week, we’ve got 7 burning concerns with the latest promo. Watch and discuss below:
1) Why is Katie surprised that she and Drew had sex?
I mean, haven’t they been dating for foreverdom? Isn’t it about time for this sort of thing? Wait a minute, if Katie can’t remember banging Drew, this means that Katie must still be on drugs, right? BAD KATIE!
2) What is with Drew’s response?
“Yeah, so, sorry that we had sex, but we need to split now so I can go back to Bianca.” Does that mean the sex wasn’t good or something? Does he finally come clean about wanting Bianca? Because we’d like that to happen. Very much.
3) Are Drew and Bianca friends or not?
Or are they, like, secret friends? Last time we checked, Katie and Bianca definitely weren’t cool, but Drew and his ex-girl seemed to be closer than ever before. Things are bound to be awkward as heck between Drew/Katie, Drew/Bianca, and obviously Katie/Bianca, who may just reach their—wait for it—Boiling Point. Ah, see what we did there?!
4) Who’s Eli’s new enemy- and since when is he such a badass?
Does this chick have a name? Is she going to be a threat to Clare? And is it just us, or does Eli have a new edge to him? We know, we know, driving yourself to your own possible death is pretty much as badass as you can get, but now that he’s back in action with his one true love, we’re kinda diggin’ Eli’s new ‘tude. Swaggy!
5) Who DARE touch LumberJake?
These new kids in school have lost their god damn minds. Other than that time Jake tried to fight a drug dealer, he’s as confrontational as a cuddly bear! This brand new hockey team of bash bros might bring new trouble to school—we get that—but why start drama with Jake? He doesn’t do anything but make out with girls he shouldn’t! Leave him alone!
6) Degrassi at 10pm?
We love Degrassi so much that we basically spend half our lives watching it and the other half starving ourselves in anguish wait. But you mean to say that we have to wait ONE MORE HOUR every night for our favorite teen drama? Say it isn’t so! Oh well, you know we’ll still be there.
7) WHERE’S CLAFIMOGEN?!
Why were there so few shots of Clare, Fiona, and Imogen in the entire trailer? No offense to everyone else (except for YOU, Marisol), but they're three of our favorites, sooooooooooo… Mohr Clafimogen please and thank you!
