Ever since a majority of the Glee kids graduated in May's S3 finale, fans have been left wondering just who will be back when the show returns in the fall. Mercedes is headed to Los Angeles, Finn is joining the army, Quinn is going to Yale, Puck is...well no one really knows what Puck is doing. With the original New Direction-ers spread all across the country, how is this all going to work for the show in season four?
Ryan Murphy spoke out while promoting the new season of The Glee Project, and his response really wasn't much of an answer. "I want them [all] to come back," he tells TVGuide. I think it'll be a different way. I mean, no one is really going to be doing 22 episodes except Lea. We haven't figured it out, but I know what the stories are. I just don't know how many episodes."

'Magic Mike' Star Matt Bomer Reveals If He'll Be Returning To 'Glee'
Well...great? So Mike Chang will briefly be seen popping and locking down the hallway never to be heard from again? At least he'll be back! Murphy is making it seem as though it is up to the actors to decide how many episodes they will be appearing in. "I think I have to talk to the actors and say, 'What do you want to do?' That's how we've been dealing with that. I've only talked to Lea so far," he explained.
Next season, the focus will be split between Lima and New York, and with a rumored guest star list the size of a football field (including Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker), I'm wondering how Murphy and company are planning to cram everything in to a one hour episode each week. It's no secret Glee has gone from being the media's darling to its favorite punching bag, so it'll be interesting to see how this all pans out these next couple of months.
