Curtis tells the chef that they will be picking new teams! Gary and Nick (the besties) are the new team captains and assign teammates to one another. Team Nick/black includes Nicole, Nookie and Avery. Team Gary/red includes Jenna (who speaks every f*cking language ever, apparently), John and Liz.
"Give me one day and two glasses of wine and my Italian will come right back!"
OK, Jenna. We get it. Gary is happy as can be to have Jenna on his team, which worries me because he seems over-confident. They start running and it's really funny that so much of this show has to do with how fast you can run. Gary's team arrives first with the help of Jenna.
"This is me drinking my expresso with my $10,000 and my exceptional ingredient."
No, Gary! I love you, but stop with the over-confidence! I'm telling you, it's bad karma!
"That's as close as you'll get to the David, but it's a complete reproduction so enjoy it."
I probably don't have to tell you who said that. Anyway, Gary's team can't figure out what this one thing is, so they go into the streets to ask. Meanwhile, Nick's team rolls up and figures it out! Uh oh!
It takes Gary's team what seems like 3 hours to figure out the answer and the other team is busy on their last task of picking olives. Too late because Nick's team wins!
Each team takes over an Italian villa and has to cook a 4-course Tuscan meal. Since Nick's team won, their "exceptional ingredient" is Nona, a grandmother who will help them prepare their authentic dishes. Her son is a good critic. Or something.
"I didn't understand a f*cking word she was saying, so I think we were better off without her."
That went nowhere. She was such a sweet lady who was willing to give them all her secrets, but they couldn't even understand. Meanwhile, Gary and his team aren't doing much better.
"The menu-planning seems to consist of Jenna shouting things out."
This is why I love John. But John apparently let Gary's Ribollita fall all over the floor during the night and it's ruined. Liz f*cks up the pasta and nonchalently tells her team that she messed up.
In the end, it seemed like the diners were super critical and weren't really fond of either team. But, the black team wins and Michelle gets MVP for her meatballs.
"Really? She made good, salty balls. That's like being valedictorian of summer school. She didn't deserve it."
When the red team deliberates, it seems everyone is frustrated that Liz has immunity. I'm just hopeing John stays. Gary votes for John. John vote for Gary. And Liz votes for Jenna. So it's up to Jenna. And alas, Gary is sent packing.
SumOlogy: John, you better step up your game!
