That's exactly what happened to Brett Sigworth of Massachusetts, whose upper body became engulfed in flames after he applied Banana Boat's spray-on aerosol sunscreen just before lighting the grill. Not only did the freak accident cause second-degree burns, but the damage showed up in the precise areas where he had sprayed the lotion.
In a statement to CBS Boston, Banana Boat addressed the incident, saying: "We were concerned to hear about Brett's experience. At Banana Boat, we take these matters very seriously and will begin a prompt investigation as we continue to strive to deliver products of the highest quality to our consumers."

Though Banana Boat's Sport Spray label does not indicate that it is flammable after application, Sigworth isn't seeking compensation. Instead of suing for a large settlement, he's looking for more accurate warning labels.
"It was so scary and I wouldn't want it to happen to anyone else," he said. Take a look at the video below to see Sigworth's burns.
