Pretty crappy, huh, even for an internet meme? We're all over the cut-and-paste autotune method that produces these wanna-be mash-ups, and there's nothing subversive about making Obama sing a stupid pop song, nor particularly creative or clever in using the most overexposed public figure on the planet.
If anything, all this clip does is demonstrate just how bad music has gotten. The piecemeal computer rendering of "Call Me Maybe" contains no less tonality or emotion than the original, nor less autotune. Music really has just degenerated into bits and bytes to be rearranged at will for no particular purpose. Anybody else get the feeling this is what Radiohead was warning us about on OK Computer?
