On tonight's season premiere of Real Housewives of New York, fans were reunited with Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, and Sonja Morgan. They also got to meet the three new ladies -- Aviva Drescher, Carole Radziwill, and Heather Thompson. Plus, Ramona and LuAnn had a bit of a tiff, so if you were feeling a bit disoriented by all the new ladies, that was sure to bring you right back.
LuAnn seemed to really hit it off with Aviva -- they went to lunch and were chatting in French within minutes. The two had already met and had more than just French in common! LuAnn once dated Aviva's ex-husband. What's more? The same ex-huband also went out with Sonja!
Sonja Morgan was her usual spastic self, preparing for a "Sonja-fresh" party, and looking for a young man to flirt with. Aviva thought there may be tension between the them since she and Aviva's ex were so close, but Sonja was on one of her "good vibes" kicks and was totally down with whatever.
"O.M.G." (as she would say) Heather Thompson smiled all episode long. First impression: she's way too nice for this group of tigers! Is she just trying to hard? She has a shapewear line called Yummie Tummie, so maybe she's just cute like that!
Carole Radziwill arrived to Sonja's party in hot pants and looked.. hot! Aviva had already read her book and had plenty to talk about with her. She later prepared for a gig interviewing the Kardashian sisters for a "glossy magazine," which she thought she'd never do.
Ramona arrived, Pinot in hand, and ready to stir the pot. Shortly after she got to Sonja's, she and LuAnn got into a mini brawl. LuAnn is still harboring tensions over from last season when Ramona called her a "weekend mommy."
Aviva shocked everyone when she pulled out a third leg during a mani/pedi with Sonja. She later jokingly wondered if she'd be charged more since she was getting 3 legs painted, and not just 2. Sonja also poked fun at the situation asking which she "came in on."
Ramona later hosted a dinner party at her Hamptons home. All of the ladies came -- except for LuAnn who wasn't invited. Aviva and her husband, Reid, brought Ramona's favorite pie making them an instant hit. Heather had no such luck. Ramona and her husband Mario both accused her of interupting too much and then instructed her on how to be better at conversating. Condescending much?
LuAnn met with Aviva and Carole for coffee to tell them about a call she received from Ramona. An incident had occurred at LuAnn's home involving a young teen who passed out drunk and had to be taken to the hospital. Once Ramona got wind of this she decided to use it to her advantage and phoned LuAnn to tell her to stop fighting with her or she'd expose her children as wild drunks! Blackmail in the NYC!
At the end of the episode, the new girls made a pact not to become mean girls. We'll see how long that lasts!
Sumology: A love triangle, blackmail, and several new faces -- what more could you want from the Real Housewives of New York?!
