A ridiculously skewed study poll published by RealSelf.com (ha!) asked women with implants about their sex lives, and while upwards of 70 percent admit that their sex life satisfaction had improved since their enlargements, the women also claimed that their total life satisfaction increased by 34%. While I'm over here gratuitously sighing, ask yourself this: do you place an inordinate amount of worth on our body? Probably, yes.
Dallas-based Plastic Surgeon Dr. Andrew P. Trussler pointed out the obvious: "I see a transformation in what patients wear and how they carry themselves in the office after having a breast augmentation. In my personal observation, women definitely feel more confident after the procedure, and you can easily see how that improved confidence will lead to improvements in other areas of their lives."
So does this mean our boobs are more than just the key to a man's heart? Are they what makes us successful in life? Probably, yes.
Still, the study also produced even more obvious results: 70 percent admit that their sex life satisfaction had improved since their enlargements, and the women were more easily aroused, presumably because they no longer have saggy sand bags of insecurity weighing them down.
One source who concurred spoke to UK's Daily Mail, saying, "I completely agree with this because if there has always been a part of your body that you've felt self-conscious about while in an intimate situation, then that definitely affects your confidence and therefore ability to relax and enjoy yourself."
Okay, that seems sensible enough - if there's something you don't like about yourself, then change it! Girl power! But then she added this:
"After having gone from an 32A cup to a 32FF, all of a sudden, the part of my body that had always been an embarrassment to me, became something that I was proud of and could feel confident while being with a partner."
Um. Now I'm not here to judge and I totally think women should do whatever it is - as long as it's safe and within their means - that makes them feel better about themselves, but 32FF? #SorryNotSorry but no doctor should throw implants inside a woman who is naturally a 32A, or anyone for that matter. Do you think women who opt for enhancement should work on improving their confidence elsewhere, or is the surgery just a harmless (yet expensive) way to up their self-esteem? Where do you stand on the breast implant issue?
