Alvaro commented on The 2013 Oscar Snubs: Or, How 'The Dark Knight Rises,' Um, Didn't:
“I'm honestly baffled. If Avengers got a nod for effects, DRK could have at least gotten a nomination for a lesser category like sound, score, or supporting actor.
This has to be motivated by some insider intrigue, there's no other explanation.”
So there I am, sitting with fellow Sunday night recapper Anthony Schneck and my roommate Sam watching TV when I realize that there's a special feature of The Dark Knight Rises on MTV. I switch over and immediately start weeping. OK, not so much, but on the inside I did. Then I angrily shushed Anthony when he said something so I think he's kind of mad at me.
ANYWAY. This movie looks great, doesn't it? We have more footage of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman (looks great!) and Bane (LOOKS EVEN BETTER). Plus, we had that introduction by Christopher Nolan himself, who is looking great these days. I'm not saying that I would break up his marriage with producer wife Emma Thomas. But I defintiely am saying that I would quit all jobs and ambitions so I could babysit for them or even clean their house. That's just the kind of person I am, sacrifice for art.
Other things that excite me about this is the score by Hans Zimmerman (who I do a killer impression of). You can hear the motifs from The Dark Knight score with creepier, more ambient additions, accompanied well with the "Rises" chanting.
