Angelina Jolie is known for her amazing acting skills, humanitarian work and always expanding family. However, before all this happened, Jolie was known for her interesting and controversial relationships. In honor of her birthday and new engagement to Brad Pitt, here is a list of 10 relationships Jolie had before meeting Brad! Get ready for some shockers.
Johnny Lee Miller- The two met while filiming Hackers in 1995. Soon after, Miller and Jolie married in 1996. Jolie’s attire to her first wedding was extremely non-traditional. She wore black rubber pants and a white t-shirt, which had Miller’s name written on it using her own blood (I guess she was weird even back then). They couple divorced in 1999 but remain on good terms.
Jenny Shimizu- Jolie had a brief relationship with the model and actress in 1996 after filming Firefox. This was Jolie’s first reported bisexual relationship. Jolie claims she was in love with Shimizu but married Miller instead.
Timothy Hutton- The two met on the set of Playing God in 1998. After being romantically involved during the filming of the movie they broke up, leaving some to claim that it was Hutton that broke Jolie’s heart.
James Haven (her brother)- Okay, so maybe this isn’t technically the relationships we are talking about but, it had to be mentioned. Actor James Haven, accompanied his sister to the 2000 Oscars where they kissed (for an awkwardly long time) causing buzz all over the world. Sorry to bring back that terrible memory, moving on…
Billy Bob Thornton- This has to be one of Jolie’s most public relationships. After only two months of dating the pair married in Las Vegas in 2000. Thornton is twenty years older than Jolie but they were notoriously known for wearing vials of each other’s blood around their necks. The couple wasn’t shy about the cameras and was constantly photographed displaying some heavy PDA. The two adopted a son from Cambodia, but divorced three years later in 2003.
Colin Farrell- Although there is no photographic evidence of this relationship, the two met on set of their movie Alexander in 2003. Both actors deny rumors of their fling but old reports state that the couple had been seen together on several occasions after filming their movie.
Val Kilmer- This relationship is also part of the rumor mill regarding Jolie. The two filmed the movie Alexander together and reportedly had a fling. If this was true, it would be very interesting considering she was also rumored to be dating Farrell during this time.
Nicolas Cage- The rumored couple was spotted kissing at an event in 2003. Both actors are known for their bizarre behavior so the romance obviously fizzled out very quickly. The two both starred in Gone In 60 Seconds.
Mick Jagger- This might just be one of the most shocking yet! Allegations about Jolie and Jagger having two different affairs were released in the book Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie: The True Story by biographer Jenny Paul. The first affair took place in 1997 (while Jolie was married to Miller) after shooting a video for The Rolling Stones which Jolie starred in. The second occurred in 2003.
Brad Pitt- Saving the best for last! In 2005 the highly publicized divorce of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston is rumored to be caused by Jolie during the filiming of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The couple has been dating ever since and just recently announced their engagement after seven years of dating and several children!
