Russell Brand took to the stage at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards as host on Sunday night. He didn't appear in any funny clips from the movies this past year. He didn't mention anything about Lindsay Lohan (thank God) and he didn't even mention about heartthrob Ryan Gosling. What he did yap about quite a bit though was his love for Justin Bieber and his failed marriage all the while taking many (too many) shots at Charlie Sheen. The monologue seemed short and had a decent amount of Hunger Games and Twilight chants but what was most memorable was his very last remark about ex Katy Perry.
"The last time I hosted an MTV show I did end up marrying someone that was there," he said. "So tonight I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for my next wife! Fassbender! It has to be!" Egging the actor on to head backstage during commercial, the comedian clearly had a thing for Michael "big penis" Fassbender.
If that doesn't work out, he made clear of a second choice. "Justin Bieber is so pretty, that even if he was attacking me, I would do a little orgasm." He also seemed to fancy his recent fight too. "Justin Bieber beat up a paparazzi. Well done, Justin!"
Russell and Katy were married for 14 months when they both decided in December 2011 to call it quits. Many may think his comment at the award show was a big jab toward the singer but she probably thought nothing of it. Brand mentioned days prior that he still loves her and it seems they've gotten better since the rough split. After all, he had to do what he had to do. If he didn't mention her at all it would have been even more awkward to the audience. By mentioning the failed marriage he was able to poke fun at himself before someone else had the chance to the next morning in reviews.
