The next time you fire up the pornographic classic Gangbang Girl 32, consider this: It was filmed in the Los Angeles Coliseum, home of the USC Trojan football team. How did this happen, you might ask? The LA Coliseum is, after all, a municipal stadium, funded by taxpayers, and it's typically pretty difficult to use ANY kind of stadium for whatever the hell you want. No one seems to have a definitive answer, but it turns out that six high-ranking officials have either been indicted on or pled guilty to charges related to corruption, kickbacks, etc. You know, standard LA Confidential stuff.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Gangbang Girl franchise, the 32nd installment was released in 2002 and is renowned for its exquisite set, which until now was a mystery football stadium. It's certainly not as good as Gangbang Girl 19, but it features a characteristically solid performance from Mr. Marcus as, unsurprisingly, a football player.
Mr. Marcus reminisces about the shoot in a video attached to the LA Times story on the porno, and he speaks for all of us when he says, "I was surprised they had access to the Coliseum because, you know, that's the Coliseum."
But how did shooting a porno in the Coliseum make Mr. Marcus feel? "My job was just to do what I've always done: have sex in a professional way." And yet, the universality of the experience was not lost on him: "I realized it was a moment that was bigger than me... I would be able to say, 'I got to have sex in the Coliseum.' I mean, who gets to have sex in the Coliseum."
Fair enough. So dust off that old DVD of Gangbang Girl 32 and enjoy the Coliseum like you've never seen it before.
