8-Month-Old Hears For The First Time
This video never fails to simultaneously warm my heart and make me cry — an 8-month-old baby boy named Jonathan was born deaf but luckily, he received a cochlear implant as soon as he was old enough. The moment the doctor activates the implant and his mother speaks, the baby can't help but smile in confusion, dropping his pacifier immediately. How his mom is keeping it together is BEYOND me. This is one of the most magical places I have ever visited. You could spend hours just going through all the nooks and crannies of these temples in Cambodia and just imagine what it was like when these places were teeming with people. Cambodia is both a magical place and a sad face. Its recent history of atrocities by the Kmehr Rouge gives us all pause.
