Where do I start with this? Is there anything else to say except..."Oh.EM.GEE!" Only Nolan can somehow make the Internet acronym sound not annoying. Not even 10 minutes into the episode, and we already were blown away! I was just shocked that "White Haired Man," who is played by James P. Morrison, found out about Emily's real identity as Amanda Clarke, and telling him he killed her father! I know Nolan got knocked the hell out by WHM, but how did his face get so damn bloody???!!! Maybe I don't want to know that.
This episode also proved again why no one should ever go up against Queen Bitch aka Victoria Grayson! While she found out that Conrad was behind the murder of David Clarke, she wound up getting Lydia Davis out of town, slapped her son into next year, and also gave Emily a wedding present that had nothing in it! Little tidbit for you: Apprently, that slap was real. Madeline Stowe laid one into Josh Bowman so hard, I expected to see a red mark on his face.
How cute and sassy was Charlotte impersonating Victoria to get the dirt on Declan's new hunny? Only to have it bit her in the ass...I'll get to that a little later.
When Ems and WHM meet face to face, I was so weirded out that homegirl chloroformed herself when he took her to where Nolan was being held captive. It just made sense when I saw she had something up her sleeve...literally! She was able to free herself and Nolan from his clutches, and sent Nolan off to deliver the goods that could clear her father.
I love how Ems and Nolan's relationship has grown over the course of this season. So much trust issues between the two of them, only to finally have them come to an understanding once she met Nolan's Aunt Charlotte, and how he would go out of his way to protect his family, just like she would.
How epic was that fight scene with Ems and WHM?! Total bad-assery! I seriously thought she was going to off him, but after her flashing back to a young girl with her father, she didn't. I got confused when she was watching the video of Conrad and WHM. It was as if not only he knew she was watching, but it was if he wanted to help her revenge plot? Hmmm....
I wonder what would have happened if Ems told Jack the truth...that she was really Amanda Clarke? Well, we obviously won't know now that Fauxmanda came back to town sporting a baby bump! Sorry, "Stripper Version of Whack-A-Mole," that baby cannot be Jack's. Hell, a part of me wonders if that is a fake baby bump!
Ems lost Daniel, she now has lost Jack....and now, it looks like she lost the evidence to clear her father. Or, so she thinks. Victoria is on her way to Washington, and Conrad tells her that David's killing was done by someone even higher than him that he couldn't stop. Trying to clear his name could put the entire Graysons at risk. I loved how Queen Victoria strutted out of that house, telling Conrad she would see him in hell.
We can't end the episode without seeing WHM one last time, right? As Victoria was boarding the plane, we see WHM doing something that could possibly either set it on fire from an explosion, or cause it to crash. We see then that a news broadcast is stating that Victoria has died and the plane went up in flames. Charlotte tries to contact Declan, and he reads her off...telling her to never call him again. Girl overdoses, and is unconscious, only to have Conrad find her body in her room.
Ems believes that everything has been destroyed. All of the evidence to clear David...GONE! That is, until Nolan shows up with the goods. The techy billionaire encrypted the hard drive and was able to retrieve everything. Remember how I mentioned before that somehow, Ems' mom would come into play before the season was over? Turns out, I was not far off. We find out that her mother...is alive! Question is...who and where is she?
All I can say is this...THAT was how you do a soapy season finale! I am excited to see what Season 2 will bring to the table. Shout out to Sanford Bookstaver. The co-executive producer, who live-tweeted the finale, definitely gave us a stellar episode for his swan song. We will miss you at REVENGE, man, and will definitely follow you to your future endeavors. As for the cast and crew of REVENGE, great first season! It was a ride, and looking for you guys again in the fall to return in a big way on Sundays!
