With a vanity plate that reads '101 MPH,' Aroldis Chapman kind of had it coming.
The Reds reliever was arrested late last night when his Mercedes S63 was clocked at 93 mph on interstate 71 outside of Columbus, Ohio, and he was then found to have been driving on a suspended lisence.
Chapman, who has a fastball that hits triple digits, also owns a Lamborghini with a plate that reads 'MPH 102.'
Chapman this season was finally delivering on the huge potential that earned him a 5-year, $25 million contract with the Reds after he defected from Cuba in 2010. In 22 innings over 18 appearances this season, Chapman has struck out 39 batters and has yet to allow a run.
Chapman was released after posting bond, and will have to appear in court on June 6.
