Gabriel commented on Giancarlo Stanton Monster Homerun Sunday Versus the Cubs:
“Amazing home run. Few players in baseball can hit that ball so hard and far. Can't wait for Stanton to earn freedom from the glorified AAA team Marlins and play for a real MLB club.”
It's great to take your kid to a baseball game and try to catch a foul ball. But it's tough to catch a ball when your hands and arms are already occupied with holding said child. Some are better at this than others.
Take note of this totally bad ass mother, who snagged this foul ball with her gloved left hand last year while holding her infant son in her right arm:
Pretty impressive. Far more impressive, at least, than this LA Dodgers fan/father who dropped his daughter to free up his hands for a catch, and then dropped the ball anyway:
A low point for fathers everywhere, but this gentleman redeemed Dads with a spectacular one hand, barehand catch of a screaming line drive, while holding his daughter in his right arm:
Once again, impressive stuff, but last Friday night at Yankee Stadium, a father/son duo took parent/child foul ball catching to new heights. You have to see it to believe it: the father lifts his boy high up over his head with both arms, while the son reaches up and catches the ball in his baseball glove.
It's hard to tell who is more excited by the accomplishment, father or son. Quite a moment for the both of them.
Now go, and do likewise.
