This goal is a few days old, but as far as we're concerned, a David Beckham free kick goal is ALWAYS worth posting. The Los Angeles Galaxy have struggled to defend their title this season, and that trend continued against an expansion Montreal Impact team over the weekend. Enter Beckham, who spotted up for a free kick in the 62nd minute.
Montreal goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts played with Beckham in LA, so he knew what was coming; it didn't matter. Add to that the fact that a free kick from the right side typically doesn't lead to a goalscoring strike for a right-footed player, and you have a vintage Beckham performance.
The only bad thing about this video? The presentation shows how far behind Europe soccer presentation in America is. There was no camera angle available to show the curve of the ball into the upper 90? No camera behind Becks? Nothing behind the goal? Come on, American media; step up your game. Or your funding. Or something.
