The uber-successful Teen Mom franchise may be sticking around for a few more seasons, but it's just about time to say goodbye to the original cast. The fourth and final season featuring Maci, Farrah, Amber and Catelynn will premiere June 12, and though it looks like Cate and Tyler may have finally come to terms with their decision, the water isn't as calm for Maci and Amber - both of whom are still sorting things out with their relationships, or lack thereof.
Though the show has largely been criticized for glamorizing teenage pregnancy, there are a few pluses that go beyond broadcasting the inherent difficulty in birthing a kid and having to care for it for a lifetime. But does the realness of Catelynn and Tyler's struggle with their decision to put Carly up for adoption outweigh Farrah's incessant entitled brattiness, which the show essentially rewards (she was the first to get a boob job, followed by Maci and most recently, Janelle). And PSAs aside, has Teen Mom actually done anything to curb the upward trend of teenage pregnancy?
No word on why the girls a opted out, but I'm guessing reasons vary somewhere between furthering their education (read: Maci and Catelynn), extended jail time (read: Amber) and, um, moving to Florida to "start over." Weird. But for now, take a look at the season 4 trailer for the girls' ladies' final season of Teen Mom and try not to tear up when Bentley, now 3, asks Maci's (now-ex) boyfriend Kyle King to "come back!" That kid really tugs at my heartstrings, you guys.
