So, if you caught my response to Childish Gambino's last track "F*ck You Blog" (which, yes, did drop prematurely), then you probably figured I'm an asshole, or, maybe you just figured that prior. That doesn't really matter though, as Donald is back with some quality on this latest track "Unnecessary" that Funk Flex got the green light to release shortly ago.
For one, it features ScHoolboy Q--that's about one of the best choices that could have been made. Two, Gambino's back on his lyricism, and isn't hindered by tripped beats beneath him. It's that antithesis of "Heartbeat" that we're always glad to have, so if you dig on that side of his spectrum, "Unnecessary" should deliver fine.
The record is supposedly set for his TBA yet-to-be-titled mixtape that's just sort of out there in the ether, so keep an eye as details arise. Here's "Unnecessary," give it a listen, throw up your thoughts.
