…It's still a better title than Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water, right?
In a new interview with Kerrang!, frontman Fred Durst reveals that the nu-metal troupe (recently signed to Lil Wayne's Cash Money label after parting ways with Interscope Records earlier this year) are currently working on a new album they're seriously calling Stampede Of The Disco Elephants in addition to a follow-up to their 2005 EP The Unquestionable Truth Part 1, which is actually really pretty good (listen here).
"Stampede has got to have something sizzling about it that's more universally accepted," says Durst. "Some of the songs have an urban feel. We're writing all different sorts of tracks and it seems like the songs going into that basket are ones that girls can like as much as guys who like rock."
He adds: "This is some crazy Limp Bizkit shit. We're working on a follow-up EP to The Unquestionable Truth Part 1, alongside the album. It's like the leash has been taken off us and we've been given full rein to do as we please."
To my memory, the last time Limp Bizkit attempted anything with an "urban feel", it resulted in Chocolate Starfish's “Getcha Groove On". Yeah, shudder. Looking forward to the Unquestionable Truth sequel, though— the heavier the Wes Borland riffs, the better.
