Gabriel commented on Giancarlo Stanton Monster Homerun Sunday Versus the Cubs:
“Amazing home run. Few players in baseball can hit that ball so hard and far. Can't wait for Stanton to earn freedom from the glorified AAA team Marlins and play for a real MLB club.”
Normally, I despise fans who catch foul balls and hold them in the air like Rafiki raising Simba in the Lion King.
But this dude at the Padres-Rockies game had a reasonable excuse. He managed to catch, or sneakily manoeuvre a foul ball right into his cup- a cup that remained filled with beer.
When he raised his cup to the crowd I was thinking one thing, and one thing only. You better not pussy out and chug that shit.
And so he did. Only in unorthadox fashion.
This guy leaves the ball in the cup while he chugs. The ball that was just rubbed and massaged by pitcher Matt Reynolds greasy, dirty little paws. I guess it's not a big deal considering we drink Keystone light with ping pong balls in them, thrown by some frat slob named Chad after it was washed in a water cup filled of dust, lint and pubic hair.
But good for this guy. Chugging the beer was realistically his only legitimate option.

Haha no doubt about it. But he gave a strong follow-up chugging performance which showed creativity and dedication, so for that we solute him

Ewww thanks for the reminder, Jon. Also, I'm convinced he put it in the cup.
