You might be able to tell, but I've been pretty excited for a while now about Garbage's long overdue new album Not Your Kind Of People, out May 14 via the band's new STUNVOLUME label imprint. So far, we've gotten a good listen to first singles "Blood For Poppies" and "Battle In Me", but between now and the album's street date, Garbage are previewing their new album via a series of short online videos.... or "mini films", as they insist upon calling them.
The first short film for album cut "Man On A Wire" dropped earlier this afternoon. Check it out below.
"The best moments on the record are all things that happened really fast," explains Steve Marker beneath a black bowler hat. "The guitar riff I remember doing in less than five minutes sort of as... something that popped in my head."
On the off-hand chance you weren't convinced that Not Your Kind Of People was going to rock our fucking socks off, "Man On A Wire" should put that notion to its proverbial bed—the guitar riff is an absolute monster, while Shirley Manson's vocals sound rawer and realer than they have in ages. Expect a lot of equally gritty, gnarly guitar work on the remaining mini-films, which you can see before anyone else by following the band on Facebook (right here).
