Today in ridiculous: a New Jersey mom is being charged for second-degree child endangerment for sneaking her five-year-old daughter into a tanning booth which - even better - resulted in a pretty serious sun burn. No kidding! The tanning salon won't be held responsible for the mother's actions, mostly because no receptionist in her (or his) right mind thinks a woman brings her 5-year-old into the tanning room with her to throw her under the harmful UVA and UVB lights.
44-year-old Patricia Krentcil was arrested Tuesday after the girl's kindergarten teachers noticed her burns, and in case you didn't know, New Jersey law prohibits anyone under the age of 14 from entering a tanning bed. It's not clear whether she was channelling the disgraces on Jersey Shore or trying to get her daughter on Toddler and Tiaras, though I'm not sure which is worse.
Oh, and yes - that IS her real photo above. Now you know what we're dealing with here.
