Wale Reveals Features On 'The Gifted' Tracklist
I'm trying to keep an open mind to this, but with the bunk album art and current track record of declining quality (at least in my opinion), it's difficult to hold high hopes for an impressive album from Wale. Folarin was a spark that, once again, proved he's a much better mixtape rapper, but from what we've heard so far from The Gifted, I'm not too amped. Plus, I'll probably still be busy will Yeezus, Born Sinner, Statik Selektah's new LP, and maybe even Watching Movies With The Sound Off (probably not), but whatever. Wale shared the tracklist for his upcoming album this week, and has now provided and update that shows off just about the group of people you would expect. Check it out below, and mark down June 25 for the drop. 01 The Curse of the Gifted02 LoveHate Thing f. Sam Dew0...

2 Chainz Reveals Release Date For New Album
2 Chainz somehow managed to grab not only a massive amount of success, but even a Grammy nomination for his debut album Based On A T.R.U. Story last year (I believe the logic behind this will forever evade me), and while he's been relatively quiet this year outside of "Rich As F*ck" with Lil Wayne, it looks like he'll be joining his other G.O.O.D. Music cohorts this year in album releases. Here's what Tity Boi tweeted out late last night: "FEATURES ON HAULT... NEW ALBUM ON THE WAY SEPTEMBER TENTH!!!!" So, that's that. I'm sure you're all excited about this one given 2 Chainz' unfathomable amount of talent, so kick back and do whatever it is you 2 Chainz fans do in you're surely infinite amount of aimless contemplation. I'm not sure what "features on hault means"--maybe the title, maybe something actually having t...

Stream Gucci Mane's 'Trap House 3' For Free
I'm pretty certain most of us forgot the fact that Gucci Mane was dropping his Trap House 3 project yesterday, not necessarily because we were distracted by Paris Hilton getting signed to Cash Money, or aimlessly starring at the wall, but possibly because no one really cares. There were some apparent issues with the album going up for sale from what I understand, but whatever; things are good now, and you can purchase it if you want. However, if you're on the fence, a free stream has been offered up, so you can check it out to help sway your decision. Here's the tracklist. Stream below. 01. Traphouse 3 feat Rick Ross02. Mama feat SickPen03. Use Me feat 2 Chainz04. Nuthin On Ya feat Wiz Khalifa05. Hell Yes06. I Heard feat Rich Homie Quan

Listen Up: Black Hippy Boost Rocko's "U.O.E.N.O."
If we're going to be honest, let's admit the fact that Rocko's single "U.O.E.N.O." is only really famous because Rick Ross hopped on to tell us about how he likes to molly up (or [enter drug of choice]) women and take advantage of them back at his crib while they're unconscious, or near it; it isn't much for good music, but, so, thankfully, as they usually do, Black Hippy decided to snag the instrumental to give it their own lyrical treatment. It goes without saying that Soulo, Kendrick, Q and Jay Rock post their A-game on the instrumentals, and, in terms of substance, what you've got is an end result of lyrical dominance. The quartet have all cemented their respective styles, and it shows through once again that it's difficult to place any hip-hop crew of today anywhere near their caliber. I don't know what more you could ask from a track--if you do, please share.

Peanut Gallery: Eminem's 'The Marshall Mathers LP' Vs. 'The Eminem Show'

Hi friends, welcome to Peanut Gallery. Every Wednesday here at MusicOlogy, we'll be presenting two classic albums from the same iconic band or artist and asking you... the smart, savvy, blindingly attractive Ology readers... to debate amongst yourselves over which record reigns supreme. Individual songs, concepts, music videos, lyrics, album artwork—everything's on the table here, folks. Give us your best argument in the comments section below—we'll announce the winner at the beginning of next week's Peanut Gallery face-off.

Last Week's Winner: Green Day's Dookie

We pitted Green Day's two masterworks, Dookie and American Idiot, up against each other in a battle to the... well, not death, but something definitely painful. With 9 total votes over American Idiot's 3, it looks like Green Day's 1994 punk-pop classic Dookie takes home the prize this week. Our apologies to all the 17-21 year old girls of the world—gotta respect your elders.

This Week's Match-Up

Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP (2000) vs. The Eminem Show (2002)

Eminem Marshall Mathers LP

Released in the summer of 2000, Eminem's Grammy Award-winning third album (immediately dubbed "the first great pop record of the 21st century" by Entertainment Weekly) sold more than a million and a half copies its first week alone. A darker and more introspective album than The Slim Shady LP, Eminem's critical and commercial breakthrough tackled his difficult rise to fame, the backlash from parents and conservative groups, and his ongoing troubled marriage with brutal wit, prodigious complexity and a thick blur between reality and fiction. An undisputed classic, The Marshall Mathers LP is rightly remembered as one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever recorded.

Classic Songs: "Kill You", "Stan", "The Way I Am", "The Real Slim Shady" and "Kim".

Eminem The Eminem Show

Two years after the smash success of The Marshall Mathers LP, Eminem returned with a bigger, bolder, tighter album appropriately titled The Eminem Show. A brilliant expansion on the themes of his previous album (fame, parents, Kim, etc.), the album boasts fuller, more adventurous beats and production work from Dr. Dre and Eminem himself; the album stomps, grind, floats and hops in fresh and unexpected ways beneath Mathers' rhymes—faster, funnier, and more insightful than ever. If The Marshall Mathers LP delivered Eminem on a silver platter to the enthralled masses, then The Eminem Show assured his rightful place atop the pop culture food chain.

Classic Songs: "White America", "Cleanin' Out My Closet", "Without Me", "Sing For The Moment", and "Till I Collapse".

Okay, ladies and gentlemen... it's in your hands now. Hit up the comments section below and let us know why The Marshall Mathers LP or The Eminem Show should be definitively and unquestionably declared the greatest Eminem album of them all.

Max Downie: Marshall Mathers LP. That was when Slim was at his most raw. Eminem Show can be a bit too poppy at times. I find over the years I've had much more playability with the MMLP while I will admit I used to prefer the Eminem Show. You get an ear for different Em songs/albums as you mature. Besides, MMLP was genre-changing, a savage reply to his critics and emergence into super stardom.

Joey peterson : Marshall mathers LP for sure. Stan that was a great song a new idea that was put forth in hip hop that had never been done before. Also His horror core lyrics and celebrity bashing were top notch. Plus it helped sell records with the ICP beef everyone was looking at. D12 was on under the influence just poppin off. The eminem show is a great cd but the marshall mathers lp is most defiantly what got him famous because he was "different" from other Mc's.
