Hey, everyone. This summer, we're rolling out an exciting new project here at MusicOlogy— a massive, definitive list of the 50 Greatest Albums In Ology History (January 2009 - Present). That's right, music editors JT Langley and myself are digging through stacks of CDs, re-listening to old Spotify playlists and digging through couch cushions looking for our old iPod Classics in order to pay tribute to the best albums, EPs and mixtapes of the past few years.
Can you believe it's been three and a half years since Ology was birthed kicking and screaming into the online community? We sure can't. To help celebrate our three and a half anniversary, we're asking you... the worldwide community of music geeks, scholars, critics and fans... to help compile our list.
How's that work? Simple. See that comments box below? That's where you put your picks for the best albums of 2009, 2010, 2011, and the first half of 2012. We're looking for Top 40 mega-hits, underground indie favorites, game-changing hip-hop mixtapes—if you listened to it, we want to know about it!
Part 1 of our list goes live on July 2, but don't delay—leave us your nominations below and help us spread the word by sharing this announcement with your friends and those weird kids you know who won't stop telling you to listen to Miike Snow. (They need love too.)
Can't wait to read your suggestions! Keep checking our official Music Ology—we'll have more dates and details leading up to July.
