Fresh off the release of their MTV Unplugged concert on CD/DVD, Florence + The Machine have contributed a new song called “Breath Of Life” to the upcoming Snow White And The Huntsman soundtrack (out May 29). If you’re among the minority who thought their last album Ceremonials (our review) was a little light on over the top bombast, well, you’re in luck. Take a listen right here:
The audio rip is a little rough, quality wise, but you can more than make out those thunderous wartime drums, a menacing orchestral sweep, a full choir of backing vocalists and, of course, Florence Welch at her melodramatic best. You know where I stand on these things—the more strings, the better. Sure, it’s textbook blockbuster soundtrack schtick, but who cares? The closer to heaven Florence + The Machine aim themselves, the better.
