This Saturday, noir-surrealist director turned avant-pop recording artist David Lynch will release Moby's new remix of extra creepy Crazy Clown Time track "Noah's Ark" as an exclusive Record Store Day 12" single. Now, the Moby/Lynch collaboration, as we all know, goes way back-- Moby samples Twin Peaks on "Go", David Lynch directs the "Shot In The Back Of The Head" music video, Moby really likes Inland Empire, etc.

Well, it's certainly still creepy— Moby's trademark cinematic keyboard sweeps give it a gloomy, sprawling late-night quality. I kept thinking of the black/blue cityscapes of Michael Mann's Heat, for whatever reason. Has that same tired and dreary quality that made last year's Destroyed such an interesting listen—I expected to get tired of that "I know a song" vocal loop real quick, but I don’t know, it all just kind of works.
