FX’s American Horror Story is already batshit crazy enough coming from the jaded and bitter brain of Ryan Murphy, who clearly uses television as a medium to air his grievances against high school gay-bashing bullies and the fact that zombies aren’t real. But Season 2 of the dark drama—which is already setting an insane precedent by resetting its entire premise and characters, and having zero relation to the show’s first season—will officially take place in an institution of the criminally insane. Oh, now you just have to watch:
"[Season two] is set on the East Coast at an institution for the criminally insane that is run by Jessica [Lange]… It's a completely different world and has nothing to do with season one, there's not a mention of season one. The second season is set in a completely different time period."
Murphy hinted that Zachary Quinto, who is set to become the archnemesis of Lange’s character, might play one of the inmates of the asylum. He also talked a bit about Adam Levine’s role on the show, and what do you know, Levine’s apparently playing a multi-episode sex Jesus of some sort, as one half of a duo called “the lovers”. Bow down to Sex Jesus!
"He's a sexy guy, so he needs to play a sexy guy, but a guy that is different than who you think he would play… I pitched him the part and he listened slack jawed and simply said, 'I'm in.' The second season is fun, sexy and baroque. It has a lot of meat to it. It's a really gritty part." [source]
