Alex, a 16-year-old who works two jobs, aspires to own a dance studio in the future, but her plans may change if she chooses to keep her daughter. Matt, her boyfriend and the father of the baby girl, is probably one of the least dependable and enthusiastic guys that's been on the show (and there have been plenty of those).

Shockingly (but not really), Alex's friends, her mom and her boyfriend all lean towards adoption. Even Breanna's (one of her closest friends) parents offer to adopt the baby, but Alex remains pretty undecided for a majority of the episode.
After a thorough discussion, Breanna's parents agree to wait until after the baby is born to make a final decision about adoption. A neighbor next door to Breanna even has a spare bedroom she offers to Alex after she gives birth. That way, Alex won't have the baby in her house, which is one of her mother's rules. (Seriously, this is the most bizarre situation I've seen on the show -- Your friend's parents are willing to adopt your baby AND they have a neighbor looking for a roommate to help pay rent?) Alex finally discusses their options with Matt, and of course, he's still hoping she'll choose adoption.
After 18 hours of labor, Alex gave birth to baby Arabella. The more time she spent with her daughter, the harder it becomes for Alex to consider adoption, and even Matt is on board to be there for his daughter. She's struggling to take care of her daughter, to pay rent and to work two jobs, and whenever Matt comes around to "help," it looks like he's been out partying all night.
Because Alex isn't able to pay rent, Brenda demands that she come get her stuff or it'll be put outside -- and Alex's stuff is waiting for her on the sidewalk when she arrives (I kind of felt bad, and then I kind of didn't, at all). She moves back in with her mom and decides to take online classes for her senior year. Matt, however, is spending his time partying and with his friends. When he agrees to watch Arabella so she can work, Alex calls him, but gets no answer (honestly, if she is surprised...).
When Matt FINALLY comes around, he brings up adoption again. After a fight (like, a yelling match on the sidewalk outside as cars pass by), Alex decides that she doesn't want Matt to see their daughter ever again.
SumOlogy: Don't make Brenda mad; she'll throw all your stuff outside on the curb.
