Zach Tomaselli is a liar, a fraud, and in his own typically hyperbolic words, a "sociopath." He needs to go away, and not be heard from again.
Last fall, Tomaselli accused former Syracuse assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine of molesting him, and said a bunch of other strange things while he was at it. As I wrote at the time, something seemed off. At the time, it sounded like a too-strange-to-be-true story. But at the time, we were also in the fresh aftermath of the Jerry Sandusky scandal at Penn State, and particularly sensitive the strange perversions of the sexual abuse of children, and we were sensitive to the suffering of victims.
Now, Zach Tomaselli admits he made the whole thing up. He says it was a game to him. He says he's never met Bernie Fine. He says he has no feelings and hates people without caring. And he says a bunch of other things that aren't worth repeating.
The sad part here is that some very serious accusations against Bernie Fine remain, and the Tomaselli sideshow has made a circus of the situation. It remains to be seen whether there is legitimate merit behind the other accusations agaisnt Fine; Tomaselli's testimonies are immaterial to the reality of that case.
Tomaselli is obviously starved for attention, and will say anything he needs to say to get it.
Tomaselli is on his way to prison next week to serve a three-year term for molesting a teen at a summer camp. Let's hope that shuts him up. But if it doesn't, you won't hear his vitriol reprinted here.
