The Zombie Apocalypse Meets The Oregon Trail in 'Organ Trail'

If you're looking for a fun time-killer, the video game makers at The Men Who Wear Many Hats have put together an awesome Flash game called Organ Trail that you can play for free online right now.

The game will be familiar to anyone who played the MECC PC game classic The Oregon Trail, but with some slight changes. You and your party start in Washington DC with the Zombie apocalypse underway, and you have to make your way to Oregon. Instead of fording the river, you fight your way through hordes of zombies. Instead of hunting for food, you shoot at zombies while scavenging for food that other survivors left behind. And, while the members of your party can still contract dysentary or malaira, they can also be bitten by zombies and you have to decide whether or not to kill them before they turn and threaten everyone. Its a fun homage to the original (and a strong dose of nostalgia for people my age) but instead of teaching useless things like history it gives you important skills you will need to survive in case of the zombie apocalypse.

Bridget McNulty: Omg, I need to play this game. I LOVED Oregon Trail and wasted many an hour on that when I was a little one. I sense a new obsession - w00t.
