'Voice' Coach Adam Levine Blindsided By Anne Vyalitsyna Split

Adam Levine can do anything he wants to do, okay? He's got Maroon 5, has an adorable and newly shaved head, is a coach for NBC's The Voice, is guest starring on American Horror Story next season and now has friends who will speak up for him on matters that have to do with the heart. Exactly one week ago Victoria's Secret model and Adam's then girlfriend Anne Vyalityna announced the couples split but now a friend is coming forward stating that Adam had no idea she was going to go to the press. Sure, he figured a breakup was coming but he didn't expect the way it would all go down.

"It was a cheap shot," a source close to the couple tell Us Weekly. "Anne didn't want it to look like he broke up with her." She previously had told People in a statement, "Adam and I have decided to separate in an amicable and supportive manner. We still love and respect each other as friends. I wish him all the best."

"Adam's heartbroken. He wasn't even fully sure they were really broken up," the source adds. Rumor has it that the musician didn't pay enough attention to her. Nevertheless, couples--especially Hollywood couples--should always discuss beforehand how they are going to settle the split in front of the public. Nothing like sore feelings when your plan from the start is to split on good terms.
