Monday night was only the third week for Dancing with the Stars. Third. As like every year, the themed Most Memorable Year performances brought the tears and brought progression for every single competitor. Truthfully, not quite sure who will be sent packing on tonight’s elimination show. But as usual—there’s our favorites.
So besides scores, what should you know about the night? There were tears from the majority, a contestant received the very first 10s of the season, William Levy wasted no time in showing off his bare chest to the audience and Jaleel White and Kym Johnson seemed very friendly despite rumors that the two were in a vicious fight during rehearsals.
Jack Wagner and Anna Trebunskaya
The year he met his teen daughter for the very first time.
Jack went to immediate tears when speaking of the day that a woman showed up revealing that she was his daughter. The incident happened a year ago and he couldn’t be happier. Compared to last week the actor improved a lot on the dance floor. His unbuttoned shirt is a little too unrevealing at times and his shakes are a little too hard but age shouldn’t be a disadvantage for this star.
Score: 24
Maria Menounous and Derek Hough
The years she grew up in Greece struggling to make ends meet.
Maria wasn’t as giggly this go around. Instead she was trying to relax and feel sensual next to Derek. It wasn’t the favorite of the night personally, but for people who like to watch sex go down on the floor—it probably was there’s. It was absolutely hot and perhaps a little kiss session happened when Derek slid Maria on the ground at one point. By far the most unique dance that viewers got to watch.
“Sex it up. Look at me like you mean it.”- Derek
“Pretend like I’m William Levy.” – Derek
Was that a make out session between Derek and Maria on the dance floor?
“I felt it.” “I did too.” “I bet you did you filthy boy.”- Bruno and Derek
Score: 27
Gladys Knight and Tristan MacManus
The years she had memories with musician Sam Cook
Would it be devastating to see her go? Not really. But she sure keeps up with people much younger than her.
Score: 24
Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower
The first time he saw what Michael Jackson can do.
Roshon was absolutely amazing in his dance. Michael Jackson’s choreographer Travis Payne even came to work with him in rehearsals. He’s so good and fast, hitting the exact steps, that its almost a little nerve racking thinking that he’s going to mess up at any second. Let’s put him in the Chelsea Kane category.
Did anyone else think that he and Chelsie were dressed as Bam Bam and Pebble at first?
Disney stars have a definite advantage.
Score: 25
Gavin DeGraw and Karina Smirnoff
The year he saw Billy Joel live in concert with his family. He later moved out to New York in 1998 and his dad went door-to-door trying to get him gigs because he believed in him so much.
This series is great on showing a different side of the celebrities participating. From day one Gavin’s been vocal on wanting to step away from his piano and to face his vulnerabilities. Compared to the rest, Gavin improved the most Monday night and was the first to break down while chatting about his scores later on. There’s no reason for him to be in the bottom two again this week.
Grabbing the tissues.
Seriously, the most adorable moment of the night was seeing him kiss and hug his father in the crowd.
“My hearts going all fluttery for you Gavin.” – Carrie Ann
“I’ve got Gavin fever!” – Carrie Ann
“I saw good hips. I saw more musicality through your arms…I see progression week after week.” – Len
Score: 24
Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas
The year her dad had lung cancer in 1996.
Katherine danced a heartfelt number that left Carrie Ann in tears. It was a very sweet memorable moment for the beauty but for some reason her dances seem to be not as entertaining as the rest.
First 10s of the season!
Score: 29
Sherri Shepherd and Val Chmerkovskiy
The year her son Jeffrey was born.
Sherri is clearly a fan favorite and even got some help from her son during rehearsals. She definitely brought the tears and it wouldn’t be surprising if this couple stayed until the very end.
Score: 24
Melissa Gilbert and Maks Chmerkovskiy
The year she was
In a surprise twist, Melissa was not in jeopardy last week. But would we mind if she and Jack were tonight? Not so much. She’s done really well since week one but even Maks doesn’t seem thrilled with his partner. He’s just not as upbeat compared to past years.
Side Note: So nervous her goods were going to pop out of that dress!
“You have to come into the competition.” - Len
Score: 24
Jaleel White and Kym Johnson
The year he became Stefan on Family Matters.
Despite rumors hours before the show that White went off on Johnson during rehearsal, the pair actually seemed to get along during the live taping. Since then the actor has blasted the gossip and said that it was completely exaggerated. As for the dance, he's bounced back since last week with just a few lingering critiques. Compared to DeGraw and Shepherd, his tearful moment is sure to be the most memorable from the night.
"Urkel and Stefan were my Mickey Mouse." - Jaleel
Score: 25
William Levy and Cheryl Burke
HE TOOK HIS SHIRT OFF. HE TOOK HIS SHIRT OFF. HE TOOK HIS SHIRT OFF. HE TOOK HIS SHIRT OFF. HE TOOK HIS SHIRT OFF. HE TOOK HIS SHIRT OFF. HE TOOK HIS SHIRT OFF. HE TOOK HIS SHIRT OFF. HE TOOK HIS SHIRT OFF. HE TOOK HIS SHIRT OFF. HE TOOK HIS SHIRT OFF. HE TOOK HIS SHIRT OFF.
Cheryl sure didn't waste any time.
Second 10s of the night!
Score: 29
Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd
The year his best friend died.
Donald did a very sweet dance in memory of his best friend. The athlete came to tears after the dance and couldn't even speak when was asked a question. He's definitely going to make it to the end if he keeps up this fantastic dancing.
"This whole evening--awesome." - Len
Score: 26
SumOlogy: William took his shirt off. Enough said.
