Watch Black Sabbath Debut "End Of The Beginning" On 'CSI' Season Finale
I don't know how or why Black Sabbath wound up on last night's season finale of CSI, performing "End Of Beginning" from their Rick Rubin produced reunion album 13 (out June 11), but they did… it happened… and now it's up to all of us to just deal with that.

The episode (currently streaming in full on CBS.com) kicks off with Black Sabbath performing at a small rock club (because that happens) and later even features a dynamic scene between Ted Danson and Ozzy Osbourne. By "dynamic," of course, I mean ...
Deftones frontman Chino Moreno has kept himself busy writing, recording and performing with ††† these past few months, but you can start looking forward to the sweet, tender sound of him howling over Stephen Carpenter's pummeling guitar riffs once again—in a new interview with Chilean website Latercera.com, Chino reveals that the band are scheduled to begin recording their new studio album in July with a projected Fall 2012 release date.
"I know everybody says this, but I believe this is the best record we've made," Moreno gushes, "I'm very enthusiastic, because it sounds futuristic in comparison to our last one, so it feels like a step forward. The songs are very different from each other, not heavier or slower, but more dynamic, going towards several directions; it's heavy, but beautiful."
To my Deftones-obsessed ears, "futuristic" and "beautiful" suggests a return to the impressionistic, post-metal soundscapes of White Pony or Saturday Night Wrist— which would makes sense following up the direct, ultra-melodic sounds on Diamond Eyes. I learned by now never to assume anything about the Deftones and their ever-evolving sound and shifting sonic palettes—whatever "futuristic" is meant to mean, you can be sure it'll be amazing to the nth.
