I tried my damndest not to act surprised when I found out Jessica Simpson is still nearly a month away from her due date, but it was impossible to stifle my bewilderment. Just...how? Though the 31-year-old announced her pregnancy on Halloween by tweeting a photo of her "mummy" costume - a photo where she looks a good five or six months along - it's hard to believe Jessica's going to get bigger before she gets smaller.
Still, the Fashion Star mentor, who vowed to wear four-inch YSL heels while in labor, is having a hard time coping with the extra weight on her feet.
"Only one month to go!" Jessica was overheard telling a fellow shopper at Fred Segal's in Santa Monica Tuesday, Us Weekly reports. "I can't wear heels anymore," lamented the star, clad in a black maxi dress and flip flops. "I tried but it was too hard. Wearing heels is like a religion to me, so it's tough!"
We knew it'd just be a matter of time, but props to Jessica for sticking it out in heels this long. Anyone taking bets on when she goes into labor? Or better yet, what she'll wear in the delivery room? Yea, us either.
