If you let Big K.R.I.T.'s 4evaNaDay mixtape pass you by shortly ago, then just leave, because you missed out on one of the pinnacle releases in hip-hop this year. We won't call it perfection, but K.R.I.T. toes the boundry about as close as anyone working in his vein right now can.
While his upcoming album Live From The Underground has been suffering from delay syndrome since last September, we've got news on it in cement, and after hearing of the B.B. King feature K.R.I.T. linked up, we've now got a few major names set to appear on the tracklist.
8Ball & MJG, Big Sean, 2 Chainz and Anthony Hamilton are all slated to appear, at least by what K.R.I.T. shared with Hard Knock TV at SXSW, so there should be some interesting sounds with the newer breakouts and classic southerners.
K.R.I.T. also went on to talk on how he linked up with B.B. King:
"When I wrote the song, I was like, yo, this would be so dope, you know what would be crazy? To put B.B. King on it. And we laughed and shit, and then we just forgot about it," he said. "And then I reached out to my lawyer and was like, I really want to make this happen. Thank God, somebody that really works side-by-side with B.B. King, a younger cat named Jason, he was [familiar with] my music. So he was actually able to let B.B. hear the sing, talk to B.B. like, ‘Yo, he’s from Mississippi, let’s try to do something different. Listen to this.’ And he was down to do it. I actually had the opportunity to fly out to Vegas and be in the studio with B.B. I’m excited for people to see the footage."
That's all that for now. Live From The Underground is set for June, so mark the date down.
