White Lies, one of my favorite lesser-known groups, are set to release new album Big TV (their follow-up to 2011's fantastic Ritual) on August 13 here in the U.S. The monolithic post-rockers will officially drop lead single "There Goes Our Love Again" on August 5… until then, though, you can check it out on Soundcloud below.

Listen: Arctic Monkeys Leak New Single "Do I Wanna Know?"
Arctic Monkeys have "official leaked" their latest single "Do I Wanna Know?", the new track they debuted last month on the first date of their still-ongoing tour. A slow-burning, tightly wound bit of business, the song will presumably show up on their still super secretive fifth album. (Check out fan footage of another new song, "Mad Sounds," right here.)

"There's no time deadlines or anything like that for release. We're just getting back into it, because it always takes a while to get back into it," drummer Matt Helders

Still no word when Arctic Monkeys will release that super-secretive fifth album of theirs, although the band did debut yet another brand new song, this one titled "Mad Sounds," during their performance at the NorthSide Festival in Denmark this weekend. (Missed the last one? Check out fan footage of "Do I Wanna Know?" right here.)

Dying to hear Grammy winner Justin Vernon sing about robot dogs and skeleton choirs? Well, you're in luck—Bon Iver recently teamed up with The Flaming Lips on a sprawling, super-trippy new tune called "Ashes In The Air", available exclusively on the latter's Record Store Day double-vinyl compilation The Flaming Lips And Heady Fwends. The limited edition album features collaborations with the likes of Nick Cave, Coldplay's Chris Martin, Erykah Badu, and Neon Indian… and may or may not contain a little bit of Ke$ha's blood. (Google it if you dare.)
In the meantime, check out The Flaming Lips and Bon Iver's six-plus minute team-up right here:
Love the tumbling kick drum… and whatever instrument they've processed beyond recognition to get that huge, distorted swirling sound. "You and me, we're both so f—ked up… but you're f—ked up in the good way, and I'm f—ked up in the bad," sings Wayne Coyne in his robot falsetto, while Vernon's trademark Auto-Tune croon hovers above like a friendly post-indie ghost. The sci-fi imagery of The Lips' Yoshimi-era work is alive and well, though the wall of sound drone gives it a Zaireeka-meets-My Bloody Valentine vibe.
Verdict: It's (obviously) a long ways from "Holocene"… but it's strangely the most accessible thing we've heard from The Flaming Lips in a while, too. Expect to fight with me over the last copy of Flaming Lips And Heady Fwends on April 21.
What do you guys think? Hit up our comments section below (and, while you're at it, check out my recent interview with Wayne Coyne—we talked Yoshimi The Musical, gummy skulls, and that Ke$ha collaboration that totally actually happened. Read it here.)
