I will preface this by saying I am white (very, probably) and I've always wanted to go to India. I've also wanted to celebrate Holi, the Hindu spring festival known for its explosion (somewhat literal) of color. It seems like a whole lot of fun and good times and stuff.
But there's just something about this video that annoys the sh*t out of me. I don't know, maybe it's just the overall hipsterness of it all, the fact that everyone looks like they were just there to trip and hug each other and throw colored powder in the air. Plus you ad some jam band esque music. It seems like a bastardization of a holy holiday for someone elses religion. They celebrate it without understanding it, just because it looks like a whole lot of fun.
And I can hate it all I want but it won't get rid of the fact that I just really want to be there. Oh self-loathing, is there any way to cure you other than throwing colored powder in the air in jubiliation?
Sean Posner:
Looks absolutely fantastic...I'm going to throw one of these...I got a few stuffed animals I can load purple and green powder in to and I'll smash 'em in the air with a Luisville Slugger I have from the good 'ol early teen years.....
