Listen Up: "Max Julien" By A$AP Rocky And A$AP Ferg
...Two Chainz on like I'm Tity...
Well, with A$AP Ferg's emergence this year and A$AP Ty Beats' continual involvement, it's not surprising to see that Rocky and the pair are beginning to do more work together with the rest of the Mob out of the picture; it's a fact of the system--a few get famous, a few follow, and most evaporate. I'm not surprised. Whatever, though--we'll stay away from the negative commentary.
What we've got here is a fresh set from the aforementioned A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg and A$AP Ty Beats titled "Max Julien" from Funkmaster Flex' upcoming Who You Mad At? Me Or Yourself? mixtape; unfortunately, it's hit with Funk Flex tags, but outside of that annoyance, the chiller is chill without question. Though it's Ty Beats on the boards, my ear easily leaned more toward assuming it was Clams Casino, but that doesn't really mea...
Well, I don't know what was the deal here, but A$AP Rocky, after having run through the usual media gauntlet while he's making his, for the most part of the moment, unrivaled rise in hip-hop, decided to do a little catharsis on everything from his "bro" Drake to girlfriend Iggy Azalea's fued with Azealia Banks in a recent interview with Punchbowl TV.
For the first part, let's address A$AP's statement on Odd Future, the West Coast collective that, as you know, the media has conjured a mulligan stew of beefs to fabricate some controversy between them and Rocky's crew.
"I like Odd Future but people don't want us to like each other. They want us to beef and that's fucking stupid. I like Odd Future. People always want to compare us and I don't get it."
That's all good, I suppose, though it would be interesting to see an all out audio feud between A$AP and the asinine O.F. collective.
Anyway, moving on, the pretty muthaf*cka decided to share some thoughts on his, shall we say, female-anatomy-popping girlfriend Iggy Azaelea and Azealia Banks, who have been battling about something I guess (I really haven't paid any attention because, you know, it's lame as f*ck).
"They've [Iggy and Azealia] got to cut it out. That's some bullshit. Iggy is not racist. Trust me. That's some bullshit. I think that's petty for Azealia Banks. Come on. Don't pick on her because she's white. That's a low blow."
That's that. Continuing forward, A$AP shared some thoughts on Drake, who he's spent the last however many months touring with:
"Drake likes to show me better than he could tell me. He's a kind hearted kid. He's shown me that when I get to his level, I can still be humble and still be nice to people...I don't want to work with Drake because it's so cliche. I've got something better. I've got a brotherhood with him. That's my bro. I do want to work with him. I just think people are already expecting that. So, maybe we shouldn't give them what they want yet."
He also spoke some words on Kanye, but I don't really feel like transcribing that, so just catch it in the video below.
