Yikes.
Courtesy of Badass Digest (and I don't want to spoil anything for you guys, but there's a pretty surprising pun in that headline; you'll never see it coming!) comes the first picture of Hugh Jackman in character as Jean Valjean from the forthcoming adaptation of Les Miserables and he certainly looks like he's not in great shape! This is apparently towards the beginning of the movie, when Valjean is a prisoner. It turns out, the life of a prisoner in the 19th century wasn't all sunshine and roses, despite what you've been told!
I'm not sure if a blurry picture of Hugh Jackman and his bizarrely long nose is going to increase my enthusiasm for this movie at all, but I am a fan of neither the Victor Hugo novel nor the musical that was inspired by it. The film is an adaptation of the musical, if the presence of Jackman didn't tip you off to that fact, with The King's Speech's Tom Hooper directing (and no, we still haven't forgiven him for stealing David Fincher's Oscar) and Russell Crowe playing the dogged Inspector Javert. Also Sasha Baron Cohen is in this for some reason. Call me when they make a film version of the Carrie musical.
