If Jennifer Lopez performs at the Costume Institute Gala, I quit. I just quit. I don't understand how a high-profile divorce (and immediate rebound) and an American Idol gig could possibly catapult Jenny from the Block out of her Gigli days and into sartorially credibility. Does nobody remember the great babushka of 2006? Good god, people - why are we all pretending J.Lo and her jumpsuits deserve any more camera time?
WWD reports, "Anna Wintour may have reeled in Jennifer Lopez as the musical performer at the upcoming Costume Institute Gala on May 7," and though Vogue has denied that Lopez would perform, the statement could just be a cover. The only way I could get behind J.Lo taking the stage is if she shacks up with Ja Rule (is he dead?) and sings "I'm Real." I'm sure Anna and Grace would just love the "Murder Remix."
And now to people who should perform - how about Adele? She has a Vogue cover under her belt, she's relevant and she's universally likable. Oh, and she's TALENTED.
