Good news for old people! CBS has announced renewals for 18 of its primetime shows, meaning your parents’ DVR will be fully booked for the 2012-2013 season!
The network picked up new seasons for nine of its dramas, four comedies, three reality shows, and long running news programs 60 Minutes and 48 Hours.
Comedies Mike & Molly and 2 Broke Girls join the previously renewed How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory for the network’s sitcom lineup next year. Not surprisingly left out of the announcement were deals for Rules of Engagement and Rob, which stand out like two kids nobody asked to the prom for obvious reasons. A deal has yet to be reached for a new season of Two and a Half Men, but we can’t imagine not getting another year of watching Angus T. Jones awkwardly grow up.
Practically every one of the network’s procedural dramas have been picked up, with renewals for Hawaii Five-0, Criminal Minds, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Person of Interest, The Mentalist, Blue Bloods, The Good Wife, NCIS and NCIS: LA. Not on the list are CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, A Giften Man, and Unforgettable. Please don't take David Caruso from us, CBS! He has so many crime puns to give the world!
Reality shows Survivor and The Amazing Race have been inevitably renewed, with Undercover Boss also getting picked up to continue America’s love affair with our corporate masters.
Any shows you guys are excited to hear get renewed? Is anybody worried about Rob being cancelled? You can tell us. We won’t judge! (Maybe we will, just a little.)
