The guessing game over who will direct the next James Bond screen adventure and attempt to fill the intimidating shoes of non-returning Skyfall director Sam Mendes continues. Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire) was recently asked by Cinema Blend whether he'd consider taking over the reigns of the 007 franchise on Bond 24. Bummer: 'Skyfall' Director Sam Mendes Won't Return For Next James Bond Film
Unsurprising, but Oscar-winning Skyfall director Sam Mendes has formally turned down the offer to direct the next James Bond film--tentatively titled (per tradition) Bond 24—after vaguely hinting that he'd be open to helming another 007 adventure. "It has been a very difficult decision not to accept [producers] Michael [G. Wilson] and Barbara [Broccoli's] very generous offer to direct the next Bond movie," says Mendes. "Directing Skyfall was one of the best experiences of my professional life, but I have theatre and other commitments, including productions of Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and King Lear, that need my complete focus over the next year and beyond."

New 'Skyfall' Pictures Are Spooky Scary

More and more pictures and information is coming out about Skyfall, the latest Bond film. We know that the Sam Mendes film will focus on M's mysterious past and James Bond's loyalty to her and the M16 program. Now we know that there's going to be ghosts in this film. And of course, a blonde Javier Bardem.

Well, not really, these pictures just make me wish there were ghosts involved. Daniel Craig is standing out in front of a spooky castle next to a spooky tree. Is he going to unearth some crypts or something?

Anyway, the biggest "news" about this is that we get to see James Bond's car looks like. It looks like a vintage Aston Martin, the DB5, aka The Panty Moistener. As if Daniel Craig needed that.
